Teddy Bear Picnic

This commission is a good example of what can be achieved when the client has a strong vision of what they want the final painting to be. The girls' parents knew that they wanted them sitting on their blanket, in the woods, holding their teddy bears. We took a number of photos and settled on this composition. Once again, we shot closeups until everyone was happy with the expressions on the girls' faces and then it was just a matter of putting it all together in the final painting.
I particularly enjoyed the challenge of creating the sun dappled light on the leaf strewn forest floor and the fuzzy texture of the girls' pullovers and teddy bears.
